JULIA - CREATURE COMFORTS
One of my first ever Monster High dolls was a Skull Shores Ghoulia, and she's been by my side ever since. Over time she's almost taken on a life of her own, and she began to go by the name Julia (or Jules), but she suffers from a bad knee and worn joints. I have a habit of personifying things, and I felt that she might be more comfortable with some sort of mobility aids - zombies have a hard time moving as it is. I really enjoy making comfortable clothing for her as well; she's currently wearing a compression shirt and socks underneath an oversized graphic tee and baggy pants. With the exception of her boots, everything on her is hand-sewn or modeled and 3D-printed.
PROCESS
I do regularly use a sewing machine, but I enjoy the slower process of hand-sewing clothing. The patterns used are modified from existing patterns I've tried to fit better. I've recently become obsessed with adding dyes to printing resin, so I've been experimenting with colored batches, and the pale green that these developed felt perfect for her.
